India’s Largest Telecom Company Airtel, Sunil Bharti Mittal-led Bharti Airtel, Has launched Music application Wynk. It is the First time in 20 years the company has moved out of its own network to offer a service which will be available on other telecom operators network companies as well. The Application will be available on Android and IOS Platforms.
The instant and quick messaging application HIKE by Bharti Enterprises, introduced and promoted by Mittal Family, is also available on other operators as well.
The New Application by Airtel Wynk has a collection of about 1.7million songs in Eight different languages. A year ago company the company offered music services through Airtel music, which started as a value added service.
The Application Wynk, like amny other applications, will also have a feature to allow user to share their favourite songs and playlist on the other social media sites like facebook, Myspace as well.

The first thing company is going to do the advertisement free application plans to make money from subscriptions As the first and initial launch cost it will be available at Rs 99 on Android, Rs 60 on IOS and Rs 29 for Airtel customers. Streaming is free of cost according to the plan of company. Company is now hoping that customers would get hooked to the service and it would earn money from data usage. And company have also decided that the cost of downloading a single song would be Rs 5, which also includes the data charges for the regular users.
Company has also plan to to use its physical distribution network to get more N more users. But company have to face tough competition from the existing services like NOKIA music and iTunes, which offers by handset makers , and music applications like Gaana and Saavn.
This application is coming at a time when mobile internet is booming in the world. The announcement is just an extension of the data Oriented approach. The company took a couple of years ago. Hope for the best now to Airtel just wait and watch what app is going to become in market.
