What’s New in Zenfone Max Pro M1?

First of all, the Zenfone Max Pro comes in two colors the Midnight black and the Grey. The device is available in two variants – one with 3GB RAM 32GB Internal and another with 4GB RAM with 64GB Internal storage priced at 10,999 and 12,999 respectively. There is also a third variant with 6GB RAM and improved camera for Rs.14,999 that’ll be launched soon this year.

Zenfone Max Pro vs. Redmi Note 5 Pro

The main rival for Asus Zenfone Max pro is the Redmi Note 5 Pro. There were no. of comparisons that were made with the Redmi Note 5 Pro at the launch event. We will compare both in upcoming posts; for now, let’s look at the features this device offers.

Features & Specs

The Zenfone Max pro M1 is built from aluminum alloy and features round edges. The screen is 5.99Inch FHD IPS panel with 2.5D curved glass. The device packs a massive 5000mah battery that should last a whole day. It’s 8.6mm in thickness and weighs 180 gms. The device sports a dual 13MP and 5MP F2.2 cameras on the back with soft led flash and an 8MP shooter in front.

The rear camera supports Bokeh mode and can shoot 4K videos.

Powered by Qualcomm’s snapdragon 636 processor with Adreno 509 GPU, the device can easily play games like Modern Combat and Asphalt 8 with ease. The sim tray with triple slots can hold upto 2 nano sim cards and a MiroSD card expandable uptp 2TB.Triple Slot- 2 nano sim and Micro Sd card upto 2TB

For security, it has a fingerprint sensor at the back. The “Face Unlock” feature will be added soon via future OTA updates.

Connectivity features include 4G, VolTE, GPS, Bluetooth 4.2 and dual-band WiFi.

Sensors include Accelerometer, light sensor, proximity sensor, gyro, magnetic sensor, and step counter.

Inside the box, you will get the handset, USB to MicroUSB cable, 10W charger, user manual and Max-Box that comes free with this device. The Max-box is a passive amplifier made of cardboard which amplifies the device volume by 1.7times. The device features a 5-magnet loudspeaker with NXP smart amplifier technology.

Conclusion

Overall, the device is powerful than the Redmi Note 5 Pro in terms of hardware specs. The sale will begin on 3rd May 2018 exclusively on Flipkart.com in India. However, it will be sold first in Indonesia on April 25. Being the first smartphone announced as a part of a strategic partnership between ASUS and Flipkart, the Zenfone Max Pro comes with an introductory offer called Flipkart Complete Protection for just Rs 49 and additional data benefits from Vodafone India worth up to Rs 3,200. Looking at the specs, price and introductory offers, I think the Zenfone Max Pro is one of the most affordable phones in India.
