Recently Google has released official Android 6.0 SDK, and in this How-To guide, i’ll show you how to install and Run Android 6.0 Marshmallow (SDK) on your PC or Laptop with the help of video guide. Please note that this is different kind of installation compared to Androidx86 which can be installed as a dedicated OS on your PC or laptop alongside with Windows or Linux OS. After installing the Marshmallow, you will be able to run the OS and install Apps. So let’s start with the guide,

Recommended: Install Stable Android OS x86 4.4.4 R3 Update on PC and Laptops [Update]

System Requirement:

Before you start installation, please check the following system requirements. If your system has all needed hardware and software, then you can go ahead and proceed.

Most operating systems should be able to run the Android development tools. If you’re using Windows XP, Vista, or Windows 7, Windows 8 then you’re good to go.

  • Microsoft® Windows® 8/7/Vista (32 or 64-bit)
  • 2 GB RAM minimum, 4 GB RAM recommended
  • 400 MB hard disk space
  • At least 1 GB for Android SDK, emulator system images, and caches
  • 1280 x 800 minimum screen resolution
  • Java Development Kit (JDK) 7
  • Optional for accelerated emulator: Intel® processor with support for Intel® VT-x, Intel® EM64T (Intel® 64), and Execute Disable (XD) Bit functionality.

On Mac

You can develop for Android using the official tools on OS X versions from 10.5.8 (x86).

  • Mac® OS X® 10.8.5 or higher, up to 10.9 (Mavericks)
  • 2 GB RAM minimum, 4 GB RAM recommended
  • 400 MB hard disk space
  • At least 1 GB for Android SDK, emulator system images, and caches
  • 1280 x 800 minimum screen resolution
  • Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 6
  • Java Development Kit (JDK) 7
  • Optional for accelerated emulator: Intel® processor with support for Intel® VT-x, Intel® EM64T (Intel® 64), and Execute Disable (XD) Bit functionality

On Linux

The Android tools are supported for Ubuntu from version 8.04 and on the GNU C Library from 2.7. If you run a 64-bit Linux installation, it will need to be able to run 32-bit applications.

  • GNOME or KDE desktop
  • GNU C Library (glibc) 2.15 or later
  • 2 GB RAM minimum, 4 GB RAM recommended
  • 400 MB hard disk space
  • At least 1 GB for Android SDK, emulator system images, and caches
  • 1280 x 800 minimum screen resolution
  • Oracle® Java Development Kit (JDK) 7

  • Step 3# Now Run Android SDK installation Setup (downloaded in step 1) to install Android SDK Tools.

  • Step 4# Next, open the Android SDK tools and check Android 6.0 (API 23) and at bottom tick, Intel x86 Emulator Accelerator(HAXM Installer) and click on “Install packages” by accepting the license.

  • Step 5# After successful installation of all packages, Go to Tools>Manage AVDs and click create.
