Starting February 2015, Microsoft has finally discontinued to provide the ISO images of Windows 7 as free downloads to the public via Digital River. But, fortunately Microsoft has not completely stopped providing ISO images of Windows 7, If you want to reinstall Windows 7 on your computer and have a valid product key, you can now download the ISO disc image file from the Microsoft Software Recovery Center. This will allow you to reinstall the OS completely crapware free and give your computer a breath of new life.
Microsoft has just ensured to implement a serial key check in order to stop freeloaders from getting the Windows 7 ISO for free, who often use illegal methods to turn it into a full version for free. Alternatively, if your Windows PC came installed with genuine Windows 7, you can use a free program like Magic Jellybean Keyfinder to view your key.
Follow these Steps :
- Head over to http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-recovery and enter your genuine windows 7 product key and choose a language.
- Note: You might have problem verifying OEM Windows 7 keys. If you face any problems contact Microsoft directly or your OEM key provider.
- Wait for a few seconds for your key to be verified and you will be able to download a ISO image of Windows 7.
Since the ISO image will be more than 2GB in size, it is recommended to use a Download manager to download it successfully. After downloading the image you can create an installation SD card or Flash Drive using the Windows 7 USB/DVD Download Tool (which works with other version of Windows too). Or you can use the ISO file to run a portable version of Windows from a flash drive.
