WhatsApp was not available till now for PC users but now it can be installed on any Windows 8+ and Mac. I have shared many ways of using (installing) WhatsApp on PC in our few previous guides where we use third party softwares like the BlueStacks and other Android emulators. Recently, Facebook owned WhatsApp has released the WhatsApp Desktop app version that can be easily installed on both Windows and Mac PCs. So let’s get started,

Installing WhatsApp on Windows and Mac OS:

Step 1: Go to http://whatsapp.com/download and download the WhatsApp desktop app (61MB approx.) for either Windows 64/32-bit or Mac (whichever you are using).

Step 2: Once you downloaded the WhatsAppSetup.exe, no installation is needed. So just go ahead and open it and it will display a QR code similar to one displayed when you open web.whatsapp.com. Now from here the process is similar to the on you follow to connect WhatsApp on web using your web broswer.

Step 3: Next, open the WhatsApp on your smartphone and select “WhatsApp for web” under the settings menu and scan the QR Code displayed on the WhatsApp Desktop app that you just installed and launched on your PC.

That’s it, now you can use your WhatsApp account via PC using this WhatsApp Desktop App. So now you can enjoy WhatsApp on your Windows or Mac PC with large keyboard and you can share pictures, messages and everything that you can do on your smartphone with WhatsApp.
