Playing Android Games on Windows PC

Recommended system requirements

  • Windows 7 (64-bit) or newer
  • Core i3 (Recommend Core i5 or Core i7) / No support for AMD Chipsets
  • 4GB RAM
  • 8GB Storage (Recommend 16GB)

Things You need

  1. Remix OS Player Setup installer (744MB).
  2. A PC that supports Virtualization Technology.

Step 1. Enable Intel Virtualization Technology from BIOS

  1. Restart your PC
  2. Press ‘F2’ or ‘Del’ or ‘Enter’ to get into BIOS
  3. Locate “Virtualization Technology” / “Intel® Virtualization Technology” under “CPU Configurations”, “System Configurations”, “Advanced’ r ‘Security” tab
  4. Enable “Virtualization Technology”
  5. Save the changes and reboot

Step 2. Installing Remix OS Player

To install remix OS Player, download the setup file from the link posted above. Then install the .exe file like you install any other software in Windows. Simply, follow the installation wizard, choose drive where you want to install it and hit “OK” Button.

The setup will start extracting files from Package. Then grant Admin permissions for Installation.

Play Android games on Windows or Linux PC

Next, either click on start to install Remix OS Player with default settings or check “Advance Settings” to customize installation.

Under “Advance Settings“, you can choose How many CPU core Remix OS player can utilize, amount of RAM and resolution.

Once done with Advance setup, click on “Start”Button.

This will start loading Remix OS Player. Once loaded completely, you can go ahead do initial setup. Choose Language, Agree to Terms of Use and hit on Continue. That’s it.

Step 3. Installing Games and Apps from Google Play Store in Remix OS Player

Now you can start installing Android games, apps and run them like you do in your Android phone or tab. But you must activate “Google Play Store. Follow onscreen instructions to activate Google Play Store. Once activated, Sign up or sign in with Google account.

Now you can install apps from Google Play Store like in any other Android smartphone.

There are many other Android players (emulators) available for Windows PC like Genymotion, AMIDuos (retired now), etc. but the Remix OS Player is the best one as it’s stable, fast and plays all games and apps. Only limitation is the memory that it consumes and internal storage which is limited to 4GB only. So to play bigger games like Asphalt 8 and Mortal Combat, you need to uninstall other apps or games to increase storage.
